"Here/Now" insists on a casual egalitarianism among its makers while broadening the opportunity for the artist to bring narrative: social political, economic or environmental voice/concern to an object. “Here/Now” pays tribute to foundation potters of the yunomi while showcasing new insight from a contemporary perspective. The invitational will take place at the Craft In America Center in Los Angeles, California.

La Luz De Jesus Gallery is pleased to present Charcuterie and Cheez, a group exhibition featuring the work of Ashley Bevington, Michelle Bickford, Don Pablo Pedro, and Ian Ferguson. In this exhibition, each artist appropriates a definitive language of style derived from their own life experiences. The broad spectrum of technique displayed collectively creates an integral can’t-have-one-without-the-other effect; It’s pretty much nuts, cheese, the ham, and the jam.
Ashley Bevington’s (b.1990) ceramics are a result of universal coping mechanisms manifested during times of humility, humor, trauma, and contradiction.
Michelle Bickford applies her engineering background to visually translate abstract forms into mid-century and futuristic narrative painting.
Don Pablo Pedro (b. 1986) is the amalgamation of an ego resurrected from a subconscious myth that dives deep into his figurative psyche.
Ian Ferguson (b. 1985) combines ancient mythologies and his own life experiences in order to inspire introspection and employ aesthetic unity through his architectural renderings.
